SKYROS ISLAND CARNIVAL

     One of the most original carnival customs takes place in  Skyros island,(central Aegian Sea)It is also known as  the custom of the Old Man of Corelli and Frangou.

 People wearing  bells celebrate in the center of Skyros .The Old Man"  is the  key member of a group , consisting usually of three to five people, who wander causing laughter and creating the characteristic ringing sound heard everywhere.
