KIMOLOS . THE WHITE ISLAND
Kimolos (Κίμωλος) was called "Argentiera" by the Venetians, and takes its name from the Greek word Kimolia, which means chalk. Both names recall the white rocks of the Island. And in effect, a white/silver quality of perlite is still being extracted today, along with cimolite, chalk.
Kimolos beaches are mostly on the South coast, covered from the Northern winds, and show their sandy reddish or white colors, according to their location. They can easily be reached by car/motorbyke, not distant from Psathi.
The beaches of Aliki,Bonatsa and Kalamitsi are large beaches with golden sand and are the ideal place in any weather, facing South. The beach of Prassa, just under the Perlite's mine, recalles a Carebbean beach. The beaches of Agios Georgios, also with white sand, and those of Livadaki, Klima, Rema and Psathi, the port area, complete the Southern side of the island.

FOLEGANDROS. THE ISLAND OF PEACE.
Folegandros an untouched piece of true Greece with a relaxing atmosphere, hospitality and nice beaches, close to Santorini and Milos.
Folegandros has three small villages, Karavostasi (the port), the Chora, Ano Meria and Agali Beach that are connected by paved roads. What catches the eye immediately is the endless series of "dry-placed" walls that have been erected over the centuries by the inhabitants to create terraces on the sunny slopes of the territory to be able to raise cereals.
Folegandros Chora, closed to car and motorcycle traffic, has a unique "center" of three squares in a row, with trees under which to enjoy a drink or food in a quiet, romantic atmosphere. In the gentle breeze passing through the small streets you may feel the perfume of lime trees or of the local (exceptional) bread. Bougainvillea and hibiscus color the small wooden balconies around the Kastro (XIII century).
ENJOY BOUGATSA !
Bougatsa is a popular pie that you can have as breakfast or brunch ,or even as an appetizer. There are many recipes of bougatsa with sweet cream, minced meat or cheese filling .
The "homeland"of this delicious dish is northern Greece.

SIROS OR SIRA . THE SOVEREIGN OF CYCLADES
SIROS
This is the island where Greek tradition and western influence come to a harmonious marriage. Ermoúpoli (meaning “the city of Hermes”) is the island’s capital town and has been the first important trade and industrial centre of the country in the 19th century. Evidence of this glorious past can be seen on public buildings (the City Hall, the Customs Office, “Apollo” theatre), on the neoclassical houses and at the beautiful squares. Due to its economic activity, Ermoúpoli has been called “Manchester of Greece” and the history of its years of blossom is exhibited in the Industrial Museum.
The Orthodox community has contributed some outstanding religious monuments to the architecture of Ermoúpoli such as the churches of Metamórphossi tou Sotíros (Transfiguration of Jesus Christ), St Nicolas the Rich (Áyios Nikólaos Ploússios), Dormition of the Mother of God (Koímissis tis Theotókou).
The medieval quarter of the Roman Catholic community and the fortress-like St George’s cathedral are on St George hill, also named Áno Sýros (meaning upper Sýros). Go up the stairs to the top of the hill and through the narrow streets, by the traditional whitewashed houses, the archways and the open spaces with a breathtaking view of the island.
The great number of beautiful beaches will delight the sea and sand lovers: Vári, Foínikas, Yalissás and Kíni, as well as Possidonia or Dellagrazia, the beach of a village with many neoclassical mansions with colourful orchards.
Sýros is well-known for its gastronomic peculiarities. Halva pie (a pie made of thyme honey and roasted almonds), loukoúmi (a delight made of water, starch and sugar), “loosa” ham, fennel sausages and the San Mihalis spicy cheese (appellation d'origine contrôlée/”protected designation of origin") will no doubt satisfy even the most demanding taste buds.
Internationally acclaimed festivals are held on Sýros, offering a wide range of choices and covering any taste, e.g. The International Cyclades Music Festival, the Classical Music Festival, the Ermoupólia and the Musical May.
