KEFALLONIA ISLAND - A HIDDEN TREASURE

 Kefalonia is the largest island of the Ionian Sea. It spares every kind of tourist structure as well as an exceptionally interesting natural environment. In Kefalonia you will come across to beautiful beaches, sights with historical, religion and cultural interest as well as unique natural phenomena such as the underground caves and the national park of Enos.

 The island has spectacular beaches, sandy south and pebbles in the north. The most famous beach and the island's trademark is Myrtos, with white pebbles and crystal clear waters. Starting from Argostoli, you will encounter the crowded beaches of Makris and Platis Gialos, with fine sand, canteens and bars, package-with sunbeds and umbrellas beaches Minia, Ammes, Ag.Chelis, Ligia Avythos and the beach of St. Thomas in Travliata.

In the southern part, the beaches table, Lourdes, Coast, Long Stone, Lazarus and the beaches of Skala and Kateleiou. The beach Antisamos and Karavomylos in Sami area is particularly picturesque. On the north side of the island beaches for swimming are Emplisi and Foki Fiskardo, St Euphemia and Myrtle. Finally, in western Kefalonia, meet the broad sand beaches of Petani, Megas Lakos, beach Xi strange reddish sand and beach Atheva.

HALKIDIKI. FOR DEMANDING VISITORS

Chalkidiki, also Halkidiki, Chalcidice or Chalkidike is a peninsula in northern Greece, and one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Central Macedonia. The autonomous Mount Athos region is part of the peninsula, but not of the regional unit. The capital of Chalkidiki is the main town of Polygyros, located in the centre of the peninsula.

The Cholomontas mountains lie in the northcentral part of Chalkidiki. Chalkidiki consists of a large peninsula in the northwestern Aegean Sea, resembling a hand with three "fingers" (though in Greek these peninsulas are often referred to as "legs") – Pallene (now Kassandra), Sithonia, and Agion Oros (the ancient Acte), which contains Mount Athos and its monasteries. Chalkidiki borders on the regional unit of Thessaloniki to the north.

A stroll through the garden of paradise is no longer impossible. Along the seashore under the sun, the indented coastline spreads out for many kilometres alongside the blue waters of the sea, into a secret garden of pleasing scents and lush vegetation. An artist would strive to find suitable colours to capture on canvas the countless shades of nature, the magnificent depths of the sea along sandy or rocky beaches and the patterns the sea has sculpted on the rocks and even the movement of the wind through the trees. Halkidiki has a variety and diversity which will satisfy even the most demanding visitors. Flavourful areas offering traditional cooking can be found in all the architecturally magnificent villages of the area, along with idyllic bays and small islands, stunning archaeological sites and a unique cave. There is also an exciting nightlife, beaches that seem to stretch forever and turquoise waters. These are just some of the things that make up this Peninsula. Archaeologists will lose themselves into examining civilisations stone-by-stone in Olynthos, Stagira, Petralona cave, Potidaia and Toroni. Romantic visitors will aimlessly wander the vast expanses of sandy beaches and traditional alleys, while the active types will enjoy all kinds of water sports on the beaches of Halkidiki, as well as biking or trekking in Mt Holomondas.

PAXOS ISLAND. THE BABY OF THE IONIAN

Paxos Island

Paxos, the baby of the Ionian Islands, is a cluster of small islands and rocky islets, the largest of which are Paxi and Antipaxos .They are located 7 miles south of Corfu, at a distance of 8 miles from the coast of Epirus in nort-western Greece and 12 miles from the town of Parga. Both Paxos and Antipaxos have a lizard-like, long and narrow shape. The islands cover an area of 19 square kilometres and 3 square kilometers respectively.

Paxos is an island of endless olive groves and Antipaxos one large vineyard. The eastern coastlines of the island are smooth, while the west coasts are bold and abrupt with remarkable natural formations: caves, arches, dome-shaped forms, sheer cliffs etc. The capital of Paxos is Gaios, a picturesque village build around a port which is protected by two small islands, Agios Nikolaos and Panagitsa. At the northern tip of the island sits beautiful Lakka, whilst on the east coast nestles the charming village of Loggos. Today, Paxos has a permanent population of approximately 2,300 inhabitants and during the summer months, the island welcomes more than 200,000 visitors.

 The inhabitants of Paxos are warm and extremely hospitable people who possess a love for tradition yet embrace all developments of contemporary Europe. As a result the islands have been declared Cultural Village of Europe for the year 2004, an institution which aims to make know and preserve village life across Europe. CAMPING IN KYTHIRA ISLAND

     Kythira in southern Greece, is an island famous for its natural richness.At the southern end of Kythera, in a place of rare beauty with towering pines, cool atmosphere, pleasant surroundings and overlooking the magnificent double Kapsali bay with crystal clear waters and is located in the Municipality of Kythera Camping. 

Starting from this place, and just 3 minutes walk to the picturesque village of Kapsali are bars, cafes, restaurants, small grocery stores, bike rentals bike and car.Don't miss to taste the  high quality honey of which the island producers are proud .

PAPIGO. ZAGORI. A UNIQUE PLACE TO TRAVEL.

 Papigo is in the north-east of Ioannina - latitude 039 N58, longitude 020 E44 - in a distance of 59 km.
The mountain range of Timfis, the crowns of which reach 2.497 m., dominates in the entire village shaping in the north the ravine of Aoos and in the south-west the imposing gorge of Vikos, with the river Voidomatis.
The Big Papigo is situated in an altitude of 900 m., the Small Papigo in an altitude of 980 m. and the distance between them is roughly 2 km.
Its extent is 34.131 hectares from which 150 are agricultural areas, 29.431 pasture lands, 800 forests, 300 waters and 3300 urban areas.
The 2001 inventory recorded 360 residents.

 The Community of Papigo

Papigo is one of the 46 villages of the residential, cultural and historical unit of Zagori. The particular layout, the rich vegetation of the region and the unique ferocity of its landscape always draw a lot of visitors from Greece and abroad. Separated in two districts (mahalades), the Big and the Small, that are built at the foot of Astrakas under the imposing towers and the fabulous Drakolimni, Papigo has a tradition of exceptional hospitality and a particular way of maintaining the land-planning and cultural organisation of the local society.
