SCUBA DIVING IN ITHAKI

The configuration of the seabed near the coast varies offering spectacular views to the freediver. The magnificent mountain and sea hugging prefigures bottoms that diverge sharply, creating deep.

The reality is surprising, as the bottom of the Ithaca freediver meets all kinds of underwater Mediterranean ecosystems: rocky bottom supporting beautiful meadows of Posidonia (Posedonia oceanica), underwater sandy areas, caves and reefs that host hundreds of species of marine flora and fauna , deep submarine basins and shallow bays.

It is no coincidence that the protected seal Monachus monachus has found refuge on the rocky coast.
